Elizabeth’s Village
Elizabeth’s Village, formerly known as Scott County Hospitality House, began with a dream to serve the homeless population in Georgetown, KY. Stacey Cruse and Scott Coburn noticed the prevalence of homelessness in Scott County Schools, and that many individuals were sleeping in cars, local motels, or were “couch surfing” with friends or family members. With the belief that everyone deserves a stable home – not a car, camper, or relative’s couch, Stacey and Scott started on the journey of creating an organization that would serve homeless individuals in Scott County.
With a passion to better serve homeless women and children in Scott County, in January 2013 the Scott County Hospitality House opened a transitional home for women and children. In 2015, Scott County Hospitality house chose to focus on long-term, transitional housing, and began only providing emergency shelter in winter months.
Elizabeth’s Village is growing and working to address unmet needs in the Scott County/Georgetown community. Motivated by the compassion of Jesus Christ, their mission is to provide transitional housing with education, support services and community partnerships for women and women with children in Scott County. Their vision is to provide a safe place and access to support services for all women and women with children that are in need of assistance to become self-sufficient.

AMEN House
The AMEN House provides food, clothing and financial assistance to families in Scott County. They served over 3,000 people last year, but a study from its national partner, Feeding America, shows that 6,000 people in Scott County are food insecure and could use its services.
They envision a hunger-free Scott County where food rescue is second nature to every grocery, restaurant, farmer, and gardener; where local businesses, churches, organizations, and families fight hunger by sharing their resources through food or cash donations. As they meet the most basic need for food, they are listening to the families they serve and connecting them to other in-house programs and community partners, working together to offer opportunities for their clients to move from poverty to self-sustainability.
